This is Friends of Chamber Music’s seventh year participating in #GivingTuesdayCa. After the commercial madness of Black Friday and CyberMonday, Giving Tuesday lets us give back to the charities we love.
2020 has been a very different year for all of us, and the performing arts community has been especially hard hit by the pandemic. As we look forward to the return of live concerts, 2020 has made us all appreciate live music more than ever.
Across Canada and around the world, GivingTuesday unites communities by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another. The message of this day is more important in 2020 than it has ever been before. Take part in the opening day of the giving season by spreading the word about your favourite charities including Friends of Chamber Music.
Countdown to Giving Tuesday:

Why we’re participating in #GivingTuesdayCa:
Did you know we rely on a 100% volunteer board and dedicated volunteers to put together our entire season? All our expenses are paid through ticket sales and donations. As about 70% of our annual budget comes from ticket sales, we rely heavily on sponsorships and donations from our patrons to ensure you’ll continue to enjoy amazing chamber music experiences once it is safe to host concerts again.
We are always grateful to our generous patrons who support our programs through sponsorships and donations. Using #GivingTuesdayCa on social media, we can spread the word about FCM further to ensure that all of our dedicated volunteers’ hard work is recognized.
Please join this year’s campaign on December 1, 2020 and donate. We are a registered charity so you will receive a tax-deductible receipt. Use the hashtag #GivingTuesdayCa on your social media channels to tell the world why you support us, and don’t forget to tag us @FCMVancouver, so we can return the love.
“We have two days that are good for the economy. Now we have a day that is good for the community too.”
