This longstanding and musically exciting Czech group makes its second appearance for the Friends. The ensemble was awarded the 2017 Chamber Music Prize by BBC Music Magazine for its recordings of Martinů’s trios. We are pleased to welcome these musicians back again, with a melodious program featuring Arensky’s warmly Romantic first trio, Rachmaninoff’s early tuneful foray into chamber music, and the highly elegiac trio by the group’s namesake, Bedřich Smetana.
