Han Finckel Setzer Trio in Vancouver

Season Opener with Han Finckel Setzer Trio in Vancouver!

February 8, 2022

We are delighted to welcome our first concert of the 74th season, after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Han Finckel Setzer Trio will officially open our season on February 15th at 7:30 pm!

Hailed as “brilliant and impassioned” by the Washington Post, Wu Han (piano), David Finckel (cello), and Phillip Setzer (violin) have become a distinguished ensemble and an audience favourite, always presenting peerless performances of great music.

For their return visit, the “super trio” will perform extraordinary works by some of the world’s greatest composers: Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “African Dances” for violin and piano, Opus 58; Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Trio in D-major, Opus 70 No.1 “Ghost,“ and Antonin Dvorak’s Piano Trio No.3 in F minor, Opus 65.

Please enjoy the following photos of the Han Finckel Setzer Trio taken at the concert.

We’d also like to give a big thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our bonus performance by the Modigliani Quartet, this past November. It was a great success!

And if you didn’t notice, there are still subscriptions available for the full season, at our special celebratory rate. Join us for live chamber music experiences for music that will uplift the soul!

Please note that all concerts in the 2021-2022 season will take place at the Vancouver Playhouse on either Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. or Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. To enter the theatre and attend a concert, you must follow any COVID-19 requirements in place at the time of the concert.
