FCM: #GivingTuesday 2015

November 12, 2015

We are thrilled to be participating in #GivingTuesday for a second year! After the hype of #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday, #GivingTuesday celebrates giving back to the charities we love.

As a 100% volunteer-based registered charity, the Friends of Chamber Music ask that you take part in the opening day of the giving season by spreading the word about your favourite charity–like us!

We are always grateful to our generous patrons who support our programs through sponsorships and donations, but by using #GivingTuesday on social media, we can get the word a little farther to ensure that all of our dedicated volunteers’ hard work isn’t for naught.

Please join this year’s campaign on December 1, 2015 by donating on this special day and telling the world why you support us by using the hashtag #GivingTuesday on your social media channels. Don’t forget to tag us @FCMVancouver, so we can send you love back.

“We have two days that are good for the economy. Now we have a day that is good for the community too.”

Want to give a little more? We welcome volunteers to:

  • Deliver brochures to music shops, cafes, other cultural venues and community spaces. If you have time and a way to get around town, we’d love your help!
  • Be a social media ambassador! Do you spend time on Facebook, Twitter or blog? We’d love to hear from you! We have lots of tips so you don’t need to be an expert.
  • Ensure our events are listed on the plethora of online spaces. All you need is time, a computer and the internet for this job.

Interested? Please contact Rina at volunteer@friendsofchambermusic.ca

Did you know that we receive no government funding –that’s zero dollars! We rely on a 100% volunteer board and dedicated volunteers who do all of the work. All our expenses are paid through ticket sales and donations. Ticket sales make up about 70% of our annual budget and we reply heavily on sponsorships and donations from our patrons. The good news: we are a registered charity so you will receive a tax deductible receipt.

Please donate here.

We’d like to thank you in advance,

FCM
